Changes in our reg­is­tra­tion and email police will be effec­tive 01/11/10

 
We wanted to keep our reg­is­tra­tion as easy and open as pos­si­ble for our users. In light of recent events a small group has ruined this for all of our users. We are being forced to take cer­tain pre­cau­tions against fake, spam or ille­git­i­mate sign-ups. Start­ing on 01/11/10 you will no longer be able to use a non name for­mat, no num­bers just a plain good old fash­ioned name. You will no longer be able to sign up with more than one account from the same IP address.

You will also be reviewed for legit­i­macy before you are approved. That means your web­site will be looked at, if you have one that is; we will also ask you to reply to an email val­i­dat­ing your account. Any user that inad­ver­tently attempts to reg­is­ter with fake infor­ma­tion will be banned. Your IP will be banned from access­ing the sites infor­ma­tion ever again.

We are cer­tainly not a fan of Captcha; but at this point we will have to start using it to reduce spam. We do not spam or solicit any of our users, we offer free Graphic Design and Web design Mate­ri­als, we are a non­profit site; that encour­ages a com­mu­nity to share, develop and col­lab­o­rate on projects. There is no need to reg­is­ter with fake cre­den­tials, as no one here at 99 Graphic Designs is inter­ested in or can gain from hav­ing a yahoo email or Gmail address or any e-mail address for that mat­ter. We are giv­ing you free resources and mate­ri­als; please be respect­ful and sign up using a real name and email address. Not because we want to sell your info because we want to cre­ate a com­mu­nity of design­ers. If you do not want to be a part of our com­mu­nity, you do not have to sign up.

As part of our new pol­icy all accounts not adher­ing to the new rules will be deleted effec­tive immediately!

Any­one who reg­is­ters an account after 01/11/2010 with fake cre­den­tials will have their IP banned. This is indef­i­nite, and can­not be changed no mat­ter what the cir­cum­stance. An indi­vid­ual will man­u­ally review the reg­is­tra­tions so if you are count­ing on that we won’t catch it, trust me we will.I would like to fur­ther add that by reg­is­ter­ing with fake infor­ma­tion you are hurt­ing yourselves.This site is a great net­work­ing tool for design­ers and the like.

We don’t ask you to pay for the con­tent you read, and you can ask a pro­fes­sional designer for free about any design issue you are hav­ing. I would ask that you respect our site in the same way you would not want this same issue to occur on your own web­site. We appre­ci­ate our read­ers and ask for the same appre­ci­a­tion in return. I am pos­i­tively cer­tain that a lot of our read­ers are not engag­ing in the recent spam or fake reg­is­tra­tion attempts, how­ever it is our duty to cre­ate a safe and spam free envi­ron­ment to all of our users.
