Changes in our registration and email police will be effective 01/11/10

 
We wanted to keep our registration as easy and open as possible for our users. In light of recent events a small group has ruined this for all of our users. We are being forced to take certain precautions against fake, spam or illegitimate sign-ups. Starting on 01/11/10 you will no longer be able to use a non name format, no numbers just a plain good old fashioned name. You will no longer be able to sign up with more than one account from the same IP address.

You will also be reviewed for legitimacy before you are approved. That means your website will be looked at, if you have one that is; we will also ask you to reply to an email validating your account. Any user that inadvertently attempts to register with fake information will be banned. Your IP will be banned from accessing the sites information ever again.

We are certainly not a fan of Captcha; but at this point we will have to start using it to reduce spam. We do not spam or solicit any of our users, we offer free Graphic Design and Web design Materials, we are a nonprofit site; that encourages a community to share, develop and collaborate on projects. There is no need to register with fake credentials, as no one here at 99 Graphic Designs is interested in or can gain from having a yahoo email or Gmail address or any e-mail address for that matter. We are giving you free resources and materials; please be respectful and sign up using a real name and email address. Not because we want to sell your info because we want to create a community of designers. If you do not want to be a part of our community, you do not have to sign up.

As part of our new policy all accounts not adhering to the new rules will be deleted effective immediately!

Anyone who registers an account after 01/11/2010 with fake credentials will have their IP banned. This is indefinite, and cannot be changed no matter what the circumstance. An individual will manually review the registrations so if you are counting on that we won’t catch it, trust me we will.I would like to further add that by registering with fake information you are hurting yourselves.This site is a great networking tool for designers and the like.

We don’t ask you to pay for the content you read, and you can ask a professional designer for free about any design issue you are having. I would ask that you respect our site in the same way you would not want this same issue to occur on your own website. We appreciate our readers and ask for the same appreciation in return. I am positively certain that a lot of our readers are not engaging in the recent spam or fake registration attempts, however it is our duty to create a safe and spam free environment to all of our users.
